Citizen Election Reporting & Verification — "the eye-opener"
OJÚTÓLÉ is USHAF Nigeria's citizen election reporting and verification platform, operated under our flagship Ìjọba Awá Àrà Wá (Our Government, Our People) democratic resilience programme. It gives ordinary citizens a simple, trusted channel to report what they witness on election day — irregularities, violence, vote-buying, logistics failures, and also positive conduct — and routes every report through a trained, human-led verification chain before any action is taken.
OJÚTÓLÉ is strictly nonpartisan. It does not support any party or candidate, it does not publish results, and it does not replace accredited election observers — it complements them by giving citizens themselves a structured voice.
OJÚTÓLÉ is one of USHAF's civic-tech tools — alongside the Olóbó Alert rumour-verification network and our Citizen Helpdesk — serving USHAF's wider mandate of democratic accountability and election integrity.
Every report passes through four disciplined stages. Nothing is published or escalated without human verification.
Citizens submit reports through the OJÚTÓLÉ website or by call/WhatsApp, with optional photo or video evidence.
Trained verifiers log and classify each report within minutes using a standard triage form — no report is ignored.
Reports are cross-checked against our field observers, Truth Ambassadors, journalism fellows, and partner channels.
Verified incidents are escalated to the appropriate channel — election authorities, security agencies, or partner situation rooms.
On 15 August 2026, OJÚTÓLÉ ran a full election-day operation — from the first report at 8:00 a.m. to the last at 10:49 p.m. These are the verified numbers.
